18th Century Wheel Chair

Built for Amadeus, Designed by Nathan Bowden

Back built with laminated Poplar, hand cut with Jigsaw and Band Saw. Wheel chair frame cut and modified to be 3” wider for larger seat base, Metal brake mechanism fabricated and installed onto modified frame. Cushion and armrests upholstered with faux leather, distressed with sandpaper, paint, and cheese graters.

Liquor Cabinet

Built from 3/4” Maple plywood with edge banding for finished look. Adjustable flush mount hinges used for inset doors, additional challenge to keep seam consistent around doors and drawer. Stained and finished with Lacquer.

Walnut Desk

Built from solid Walnut, excluding the tabletop which was 3/4” walnut with a solid skirt. Three functioning drawers with flush drawer fronts and continuous grain. Sealed with Shellac.

Chair Leg Restoration

A piece of this chair leg had rotted out causing it to give out, I removed the rot and replaced with new poplar. After shaping it to match the original leg shapes i secured it in place with two dowels going in opposite directions. Finally I sculpted the trim to match the original and filled any gaps, then handed it off to paint.

Walnut Smoking Pipe

Pipe turned from solid walnut and secured to hand turned bowl. Metal bowl insert fabricated from 1” steel rod, tapped with a small wooden screw mechanism to remove bowl for cleaning. Stand fabricated from acrylic plexiglass and solid walnut block. Plexi was sanded to 1,000 grit and flam polished on edges for shiny finished look.

Solid Cherry Table

Solid Cherry table accomplished with pocketholes, finished with Lacquer.

Wood Milk Crate

Built for Carmen at the Santa Fe Opera, see by project page for credits.

Assembled with lauan and 3/4 poplar, lauan interlocks and slides into grooves in crate.

Oak Newel Post

Oak newel posts built from solid oak with oak trim details. Finished with Ebony stain and Lacquer finish, installed in clients home with new handrail.

Chair Stretcher Replacement

Stretcher turned from poplar, secured with wood glue and clamps.

Home Office Cabinetry

For this project I built all of the drawer boxes using a dovetail jig and assisted on the drawer front construction. This was also my first in home installation project, installing all cabinetry and molding in a 2 day period.

“Bamboo” Hangers

For this project we wanted to replicate traditional bamboo kimono hangers, we did this using oak dowels and small pine furniture dowels as well as some waxed thread for leatherworking to finish off the joints.

Entryway Cabinet

For this project I built the face frame and the cabinet frame and assisted in the paint and finish process. After the fabrication was complete I installed the piece on site.

Walnut Cutting Board

I joined and milled these pieces of walnut, then finish sanded and added the wood burned insignia. The piece was finished with Mineral oil.
