Forged Sword

Built for Apprentice scenes at the Santa Fe Opera 2022

Built to be used as full sword unit onstage as actor “forges” the weapon. On a strike on the anvil, the sword had to fall apart, achieved via trigger mechanism built into the handle.

Forged Dragon

Class project

Forged from Railroad spike, head formed with chisels and hammers, body finished with a pineapple twist as the dragons “scales”

Locker Base

Built for M. Butterfly at the Santa Fe Opera 2022, see By Project tab for credits

Welded 1/2” plate to 1x2 box tube, 1/2” plate used to counteract top heaviness of lockers. Angled support for lockers welded on for increased support and maneuverability.

Metal sculptures

Built for Orlando Paladino, Designed by Gisela Estrada

Welded 3/8” rod in unique structures organized by designer. all joints welded, grinded, and sanded for a continuous look.

Swing seat frame

Welded 1”x1” box tube with welded threaded inserts for eye bolts. Upholstered by Craft department, hung and maintained by me.

Decorative soup cans

Built for Mother Tongue, See by Project page for credits.

Tin soup cans with various images cut using a plasma torch. All cans hung from ceiling for production.

Ladder hooks

Ladder hooks welded, grinded, and painted for the Santa Fe Opera run rooms.
